Farm to Table - growing your own food

Farm to table. It’s something that has become a bit of a catch phrase but it is our family’s reality. Growing your own food is a lot of work but it is so worth it. Little Birch, our favourite ram lamb, from our favourite ewe. He provided love and cuddles when he was young. He provided manure for our neglected pastures. And he provided the ultimate sacrifice to provide us more warmth and more nourishment for my family.

We will honour him by tanning his hide and keeping his sheepskin for years to come.

We do honour him with how I prepare meals for my boys. Slow roasted, with organically grown garlic, onions, and rosemary. Seasoned with Himalayan sea salt, and freshly cracked black pepper.

(Full recipe will be in the blog soon).
